About ARDS Online Cultural Competency Training

Welcome to ARDS Aboriginal Corporation's online East Arnhem Cultural Competency Training. You are a few clicks away from starting your journey towards more effective engagement with Yolŋu communities!

This 10 module course provides accessible, enjoyable and thought-provoking training for employees working in northeast Arnhem Land, drawing on ARDS' 40 years' of cross-cultural engagement with Yolŋu communities. Trainees will come away with a foundational knowledge of Yolŋu culture and worldview, as well as practical skills for language learning and engagement.

Each module features interactive learning activities, videos of senior Yolŋu leaders explaining a variety of topics, and insights into challenging topics and situations commonly experienced by non-Indigenous people living and working in northeast Arnhem Land. Each module can be completed in about 30 minutes, and revisited as many times as desired.

Online trainees can expand their learning with ARDS' face-to-face workshops in Nhulunbuy and Darwin, for deeper and hands-on learning with Yolŋu facilitators. Visit ards.com.au to find out more about face-to-face training for your team.
